A little about me

Shooters of all abilities are catered for, ranging from novice/club shooters to competition level and game shooting instruction in the field.

From tips and techniques to equipment reviews and event listings, I can assist you with everything you need to stay up-to-date and engaged in the world of shooting.

I have proudly represented my county, shooting in both English Sporting and FITASC. I compete both in the U.K. and abroad, shooting all the ‘majors’ such as the British Open, English Open and World Championship’s to name just a few…

I am proactive, self-motivated, with a genuine passion for shooting. This, coupled with a positive attitude, I continually strive to deliver instruction to the highest standard both at the shooting ground and in the field alike.

The Shotgun Skills course is aimed at anyone wishing to take part in shooting or game shooting, to acquire a gun, or novices who have recently acquired a shotgun.

The course covers personal and range safety, shotgun types and use, cartridges and chokes. There is also a practical session on the CPSA method of shooting. The course includes loan guns (if required), ear protection, eye protection, all clays and cartridges.

The course is open to both members and non-members of the CPSA. Under the CPSA banner, Professional Shooting Instructors and Coaches have a convenient modular programme of training with which to progress clients from beginner to proficiency in the discipline of their choice.

Clay shooting lesson — Coaching is led by a CPSA Academy Instructor and CPSA Safety Officer, with each lesson shaped around your experience and goals.

Clay shooting lesson at the range — Benefit from competition-tested experience that helps you build greater confidence, consistency and control in your own shooting.

Why should you choose my services?

In a lesson we will discuss your experience, your goals, current shooting, your strengths and weaknesses, gun fit, eye dominance, methods, stance, set-up, target presentations, interpretation of lead, sight pictures, movement and gun speed control.

Don’t waste your money on instruction that merely tells you where you missed a target. We focus on the ‘why’ and that’s generally a glitch in the process, way before pulling the trigger.

Each shot will be broken down to break point, visual pickup and gun hold points. These are key to improved and more consistent results. Next we will address stance, mount, method and movement. The sessions will be very much process driven – it’s your understanding and commitment to the process that will result in a more positive outcome.

I am always available after or between lessons to discuss any queries that may arise.
