Modules Information
Module 1 – Discover Clay Target Shooting
Initial Lesson Includes a briefing on safety for Clay and Game shooting, personal protection equipment, basic gun handling skills and how to hit a moving target.
Module 2 – Shotgun Skills
Detailed introduction with a theory session covering safety, gun handling, eye dominance, gun fit, mount, stance and the CPSA Method of hitting a moving target.
Learn about types of Shotguns, Cartridges, Chokes, Proof, Shotguns and the Law, Personal civil liability Insurance and Gun Cleaning.
Module 3 – Advanced Shotgun Skills
Learn to shoot “Gun Down” use a variety of methods “Swing Through” “Maintained Lead” “Cut Off” and “Spot” to evaluate and understand appropriate use and execution of these various methods of shooting targets.
Module 4 – Discipline Proficiency
A progressive and flexible programme to introduce students to all aspects of their chosen discipline; from rules to developing skills and techniques to improve scores.
Students can receive recognition of their achievement so once each module is successfully completed you may be awarded a CPSA produced badge and/or certificate (depending on the module completed).
Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme.
Modules 1 and 2 are suited to candidates who are learning Clay Target Shooting as their Skill for Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme for Bronze, Silver and Gold.
